The Application Studio is led by Sarah Foudy — I’m a 12th-grade English teacher, lifelong storyteller, and parent to teens I’ve successfully coached through the private high school and college admissions maze.

With a background in journalism, I’ve spent years helping people open up, reflect, and tell their most authentic stories. I bring that same skill — and a deep belief in the power of storytelling — to every student I work with.

As part of my role as a 12th-grade teacher, I enjoy helping students craft compelling college essays, discover their strengths, and uncover their unique stories. I love it so much that I started The Application Studio.

I believe this moment in a young person’s life — the transition toward independence — is best supported by caring, invested adults who aren’t their parents. Because let’s be honest: trying to get a teenager to fully embrace the college application process — from list-building to essay writing to crafting an appropriate online image and engaging with schools — can feel like a slow-motion root canal for everyone involved.

That’s where I come in. I bring the guidance and structure — without the eye-rolls.
